Mitsubishi Fuso Adds Solar Auxiliary Power

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America said it will offer solar-based auxiliary power systems for its medium-duty commercial trucks.

The manufacturer’s cab-over-engine Canter FE/FG series trucks will be available with solar applications that range from 30-watt systems to help keep batteries charged to 6,400-watt systems capable of powering liftgates and refrigeration systems, MFTA said in a news statement.

The company has partnered with eNow, Warwick, RI., which specializes in solar-power applications, for the initiative. The eNow systems will be available through more than 200 Mitsubishi Fuso dealers in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, MFTA said.
