FCCC Expands Motorhome Chassis

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp. has added a model to its SL series of motorhome chassis, the company announced.

FCCC said the new SL-M modular motorhome chassis features with a fully customizable basement storage space. The company said the new chassis, designed for the luxury RV market, will help builders and owners maximize storage capacity and explore different interior layouts. The SL-M can accommodate a variety of coach lengths and floor plans, FCCC said.

Like the rest of the SL models, the SL-M is equipped with the Detroit DD13 diesel engine, which produces 500 horsepower and 1,650 pound-feet of torque. The engine is equipped with a selective catalytic reduction system for compliance with federal emissions limits.

The entire SL series offers a standard ZF independent front suspension with available gross axle weight ratings of 14,600, 16,000, 18,000 and 20,000 lbs., FCCC said.
